New Splinter Cell Game Leaked by Amazon Canada

Amazon seem to be the one-stop shop for potential E3 reveal leaks this year, with the online shopping giant already seemingly leaking Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 3  earlier this month, it seems a new title in the stealth-action series Splinter Cell is in development, if a recent Amazon listing is to be believed.

Codenamed ' Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 2018', the title has recently been spotted on Amazon Canada, with an E3 2018 tag in the item's model number - pointing to a potential reveal at this years E3 expo in June. The listing has since been taken down, further adding fuel to the rumour fire that a new Splinter Cell is indeed being announced and possibly released this year.

This generation has seen a dozen in Tom Clancy titles - such as Rainbow Six Siege, Ghost Recon Wildlands and The Division series - but nothing in the Splinter Cell series. The last entry in the Splinter Cell series was the critically acclaimed Splinter Cell: Blacklist, which debuted on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC back in 2013 before the release of the current gen consoles.

What's interesting to note is that back when Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2 were delayed, Ubisoft had also delayed another unannounced Ubisoft title to FY 2019-20 (April 2019 - March 2020). Could this new Splinter Cell be the delayed title, or is it more likely to be the recently announced The Division 2? With Ubisoft currently lacking a big end-of-year title in their roster, it would only make sense one of the two will release this holiday season.

What are your hopes for this rumour? I recently got into Splinter Cell with the fantastic Splinter Cell: Blacklist last year and would love to see where the current generation of consoles would take that series, especially in terms of open-world level design and co-op play.
