Original Story: It seems the highly-anticipated Gran Turismo 7 is expected to launch sooner than we thought, with an official PlayStation advert potentially confirming an early 2021 release date.

First reported by our racing friends GTPlanet, a PlayStation 5 ad has appeared on YouTube for users in Canada promoting Sony’s upcoming console showcasing an image of Gran Turismo 7 beside it.

What makes this advert so interesting is the fine print text on the image in French, which when translated mentions that the next-gen racer from Polyphony has a “release planned for the first half of 2021”.

Over the last few months, there’s been many speculation as to when Gran Turismo 7 will actually launch on PlayStation 5, with the franchise notorious for delaying their titles and having long reveal-to-release times.

Earlier this year before the title was official revealed at Sony’s “PlayStation 5 See The Future” event in June, we reported on a leak from a racing cockpit manufacturer who allegedly outed the title’s existence and was set to launch later this year, presumably alongside the PlayStation 5 on launch day.

Gran Turismo socials over the last few months have suggested the title is “Coming Soon”, with various other rumours stating the title is slated for a launch “window” much like the upcoming Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart - which if “first half of 2021” is to be believed, would still fall under a launch window timeframe.

Until then, our guess of when Gran Turismo 7 will actually launch is as good as yours. Do you expect Gran Turismo 7 to launch in the first half of 2021 (Jaunary-June), or do you expect it to launch much later than that? Share your thoughts below!
