Update: Next Level Racing have since removed the posts and issued a statement apologizing and detailing that they are unaware of any information about the launch of Gran Turismo 7 and that their graphic design department used a “mock logo” for their posts.

You can read the statement for yourself below:

"Our team has recognized that a recent post by us using a logo has been misinterpreted by media and it does not reflect any information from our end, and we deny knowing any information regarding the launch of GT7.

There have been assumptions made in the media that are quite simply untrue. Due to this, we have decided to take down our previous social post. Our Graphic Design Department used the mock logo that is circulated on the internet.

We do apologize for any confusion that this might have caused."

Original Story: With Polyphony Digital winding down support for Gran Turismo Sport and Sony’s next-gen console on the horizon, many have speculated a new Gran Turismo title could launch alongside the PlayStation 5. However, according to an Australian-based racing cockpit manufacturer, Gran Turismo 7 is real and launching later this year.

Posted over on Next Level Racing’s Instagram and Twitter is an image showcasing various new racing game logos - including recently-revealed DIRT 5 and F1 2020 - asking “What racing game are you most looking forward to in 2020?”, with a Gran Turismo 7 logo clear on display.

The Twitter and Instagram posts have since been deleted, you can find a screenshot of the post below:

Next Level Racing are a racing cockpit manufacturer with several of their simulation racing rigs officially licensed by PlayStation, which could give more credence to this leak. Regardless, it’s worth taking this with a grain of salt, as this could very likely be a mock up made by Next Level Racing themselves.

With growing speculation that a PlayStation 5 reveal event will happen on June 4th and Sony revealing during their recent Corporate Strategy Meeting to announce “a compelling lineup of PS5 games” soon, it’s very likely Next Level Racing jumped the gun on an official Gran Turismo 7 reveal.

Back in July 2019, we reported that the next Gran Turismo title is in development over at Polyphony Digital, with series director Kazunori Yamauchi stating that the next game will be a “complete form of Gran Turismo” with a combination of the past, present and future.
