Over the last few days and weeks, Playground Games have been teasing something big coming to Forza Horizon 4 on various AI trucks roaming around the world, and today we now know what it is - an all-new Battle Royale inspired mode called The Eliminator!

The Eliminator delivers a “battle-royale inspired racing” experience, where up to 72 players drop in and compete within an arena to be the last car standing. You begin in a Level 1 Mini Cooper S, where you then scavenge for ‘Car Drops’ scattered across the map to upgrade and swap you into something much quicker, with Level 10 being the highest car rank.

You’ll progress in The Eliminator by challenging other players you encounter to head-to-head races, in which the loser will be eliminated and the winner will have the choice of either; applying an upgrade to their car, take their opponents car or stay in the one they’re in. Make it to the Top 10, and it becomes a showdown race with the winner being determined by crosses the line first.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a battle royale mode without an enclosing ring looming in the background. Sirens will alert you of the ring closing, so be sure to not get left in the dust as it comes closing in on your or you’ll be eliminated.

But that’s not all coming in the Series 17 update, with the iconic 1998 Toyota Supra RZ seeing its glorious return to racing games. Playground Games recently revealed that Toyota vehicles were returning to the Forza franchise, with the ‘98 Supra marking the very first Toyota to be added to Forza Horizon 4.

The ‘98 Supra RZ will be free for all players to purchase from the Autoshow when the Series 17 update launches tomorrow, and can also be unlocked via leveling up in The Eliminator.

Additionally, seven new cars are on the way for the next month of the Festival Playlist including the 2017 Alpine 110. These are the new cars you can expect in the Series 17 Update:

  • 2017 Alpine A110

  • 2008 Renault Mégane R26.R
