Rockstar Games have announced today on the Rockstar Newswire that the highly-anticipated wild west sequel/prequel Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch on October 26th 2018, a delay of almost six months from it's original Spring 2018 release window.

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

Rockstar also unveiled six new screenshots of Red Dead Redemption 2, which you can check out down below.

It's no doubt when Rockstar Games are working on a game as ambitious as Red Dead Redemption 2 that delays would be inevitable, with the title already being delayed from it's original '2017' release window to 'Spring 2018', and now to 'October 26th 2018'.

Multiple delays are not uncommon amongst Rockstar, with the highly-successful Grand Theft Auto V being delayed from the same timeframe back in 2013, and the game's PC port being delayed from Late 2014 to January 2015, then to March 2015 and finally to April 2015. The original Red Dead Redemption was also delayed from April 2010 to May 2010.

While the news of yet another delay is disappointing, Rockstar are masters of their craft and I'm extremely confident that the final game will be yet another polished masterpiece. Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release on October 26th 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One.
