Need for Speed Heat Pre-Order Bonuses Reveal Character Customization and Khyzyl Saleem Cars

With the reveal of Need for Speed Heat earlier today, pre-orders have gone live on each respective platform, revealing new details about new forms of customization in the game.

Over on the official EA website, you can find preorder sections for both the Standard and Deluxe Editions of Need for Speed Heat. Here’s everything included in Need for Speed Heat’s Deluxe Edition:

  • K.S Edition starter car

  • Three additional K.S Edition cars unlocked through progression

  • Four exclusive character outfits

  • REP boost

  • Bank boost

This appears to confirm Character Customization will be present in Need for Speed Heat as a brand-new form of customization, and would make this a first for the franchise. Throughout the trailer you see glimpses of different characters outfitted with different types of clothes and accessories, such as hoodies, beanies, sunglasses and even tattoos.

The PlayStation Store pre-order page further confirms this by mentioning “All items are swappable and fit both male and female avatars”, meaning Need for Speed Heat will not feature a main protagonist like Need for Speed Payback did with Tyler, Mac and Jess, but a default avatar that you can customize.

There also appears to be special types of cars in the game, branded ‘Khyzyl Saleem Cars’. Khyzyl is a vehicle concept artist renowned for his insane vehicle designs online and has worked at Ghost Games for the last few years on Need for Speed projects.

He confirmed over on his Instagram, that preordering the Deluxe Edition gains access to four unique and special K.S kitted cars with bodykits he designed himself. The Volvo Polestar 1 showcased in the trailer and is present on the cover art was also designed by Khyzyl and is considered the Hero car of Need for Speed Heat.

Over on the PlayStation preorder page, each of the four K.S Cars have been revealed. You can find them and what REP level they unlock at below:

  • K.S Edition Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Starter Car
(Available from start in player garage)

  • K.S Edition BMW i8 Coupe
