Gran Turismo Sport’s next major content update has been teased in typical Kazunori Yamauchi fashion, with the Gran Turismo director announcing three brand-new cars coming to the game next week.

Several eagle-eyed fans seem to have worked out what these new mysterious vehicles could be, with one being the iconic JDM tuner car: The Nissan 180SX

The unofficial list of cars can be found below:

  • Aston Martin DBR9

Even more interestingly, Yamauchi-san announced in his tweet for players to expect less updates this year with less content in them compared to previous months. “This year’s updates are modest in frequency and volume.” he stated — signalling that GT Sport support is winding down as the team prepares to work on their next Gran Turismo project.

With PlayStation 5 set to launch at the end of this year, it would make sense for the team to shift their focus on a next gen Gran Turismo title, something that’s already been confirmed to be in development by Yamauchi-san himself last year and something we predicted will be a PlayStation 5 launch title this year.

While this may not be the final update, Gran Turismo Sport has had an incredibly impressive run, outputting near monthly updates featuring new cars, tracks and features since November 2017 - over 2 years since release!

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any future Gran Turismo Sport updates and next generation Gran Turismo news.
