After months of rumours, Playground Games have officially announced Forza Horizon 5 - and like all the rumours, will take the Horizon Festival to Mexico when it launches later this November boasting the largest world in a Forza Horizon game yet

Officially announced during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, Forza Horizon 5 is launching for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on November 9th, and will be available Day One on Xbox Game Pass.

You can check out the official reveal trailer and screenshots below:

The world of Mexico - the largest and most vertical open-world in a Forza Horizon title yet - features a unique range of distinguished biomes and points of interest, ranging from tropical rainforests, sandy deserts, historic ruins, towering canyons and even a snow-topped volcano.

Dynamic seasons return from Forza Horizon 4, with much more complex weather systems this time around including harsh sandstorms and intense rain storms that better fit the theme of the world.

Forza Horizon 5 features three new ways to play with others: Horizon Open, Horizon Tour and Horizon Arcade. Horizon Open unifies all traditional PvP mode under one banner with a focus on fun, featuring modes including Racing, Games, Drift and Forza Horizon 4’s Battle Royale inspired mode Eliminator.

Horizon Tour lets you jump into races and meet up with other players to race Average difficulty level Drivatars, with players about to gather in the world and drive together to the next Tour location around the world much like real-world car meets.

Horizon Arcade features various challenges and minigames including Pinata Pop - a smash-and-grab style mode, with 130 challenges spanning 11 total game themes, similar to Burnout Paradise’s Freeburn Challenges.

Customization has a big focus in Forza Horizon 5, with the Livery Editor getting a major overhaul for the first time in almost a decade. There are also over 100 new rim options for vehicles, with hundreds of new visual upgrades including bodykits and performance upgrades.

Not only that, Forza Horizon 4’s Super7 creator tool has seen a huge improvement, with the all-new EventLab creation toolset. Here players will have the freedom to create and build their own unique races, stunts, challenges and even new gamemodes.

Forza Horizon 5 also puts more emphasis on social interaction with Gift Drops and a new Kudos system. Gift Drops allow you to send and receive gifts from the community, allowing you to share whatever vehicle you’d like with your friends.

The Kudos system is a social currency awarded by players for postive acts such as clean racing and helping other players. Kudos earned can be used to unlock visual flairs to attach to your player profile and are visible to everyone else in the game.

Forza Horizon 5 launches November 9th, 2021 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam or Microsoft Store, or 4 days early on November 5th for Premium Edition purchasers.

Be sure to stay tuned for all future Forza Horizon 5 news, rumours and announcements in the coming months leading up to launch this year.
