Rumour: Forza Horizon 5 Could Release in 2021, Before Next Forza Motorsport

With Playground Games currently focusing their efforts on a new Fable game and Turn 10 Studios working on a next-gen Forza Motorsport title, many have wondered about when we may expect a new Forza Horizon title, though it seems it’ll be coming sooner than we expected.

According to GameBeat’s journalist Jeff Grubb in a podcast for The Xbox Empire, Grubb suspects that we “might get the next Forza Horizon game first” before the already-announced Forza Motorsport from Turn 10, and believes it will launch “this coming year”, despite no real indication from Playground Games that a new Forza Horizon is in development.

“We saw Forza Motorsport get tease a few months ago [but'] I think we might get the next Forza Horizon game first and I think that might be coming this coming year,” Grubb said.

Grubb also mentions that Playground Games are in a “weird situation” that they don’t know whether the next Horizon or the next Motorsport will launch first, but “seem like they may be ready to go first.”

Grubb seemingly knows the setting of the next Forza Horizon game too, stating “I think I know the setting, but I’m going to let them announce it.”

While it’s best to take something like this with a grain of salt, Grubb has had an incredible track record with leaks like this in the past. Earlier this year, he correctly revealed the date for the PlayStation 5 “See The Future” event, and was the man behind the original Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered and Mass Effect Remastered Trilogy rumours — both of which have come true.

Do you think Forza Horizon 5 will be surprise revealed and launched at the end of next year, or will Turn 10’s next-gen Forza Motorsport title be the focus of next year with Horizon 5 sometime later? Stay tuned for any and all future Forza related news.
