Amazon have revealed that a video-game adaption of their hit car show 'The Grand Tour' hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond is in development.

This is Amazon Game Studios' first console title being developed by Creative Director Craig Sullivan, known for his work on Burnout and Need for Speed at Criterion, and will take you to unique locations, drive incredible cars and complete challenges from all three seasons.

The Grand Tour Game gives you the unique chance to play the TV show, driving the cars you see on screen in the locations visited by Clarkson, Hammond and May. It's all the smashing, skidding, high-speed action you see on The Grand Tour without the irritating need to sleep in a tent, argue about directions or pay a sudden visit to a local hospital.

The Grand Tour will transition clips from the show to gameplay, similar to that of the recent Ratchet & Clank game, with hours of original voice acting from the trio.

The Grand Tour will also have a season pass and during Season 3, will release new weekly content alongside an episode including new vehicles and tracks from that episode.

Oddly enoughly, the title will also feature four-player splitscreen, a feature not very prominent in modern racing games.

No release date was announced for The Grand Tour Game nor a price for both the game and its season pass, we'll be sure to cover it in the future when they are announced.

It's an interesting announcement and not one we ever expected, but it will be interesting to see how to project turns out with Burnout veteran Craig Sullivan at the helm. What do you think of the game? Will you be buying it when it launches? Let us know in the comments below!
