Codemasters and EA have officially revealed GRID Legends, an all-new entry in the long-running GRID franchise launching next year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Revealed during the EA Play Live games showcase, GRID Legends takes the action-packed motorsport racing series to new heights, with an innovative new story mode played out via a virtual production with a live-action cast blending gameplay and cinematic story-telling together.

GRID Legends’ story puts you in the spotlight of documentary style rendition of the latest Grid World Series tournament, akin to F1 2021’s Braking Point story mode, brought to life by a world-class crew and cast, including Ncuti Gatwa (Netflix’s ‘Sex Education’).

GRID Legends will feature over 100 cars with a big emphasis on diversity in car classes, such as single-seaters, big rigs, trophy trucks, drift icons, classic touring cars, and plenty more including motorsport icons such as the Shelby Cobra 289 FIA, Audi A4 Quattro BTCC, and Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro Concept. All cars will be upgradable as you progress through Grid Legends, too.

130 routes will be available in GRID Legends at launch, including iconic real-life tracks like Indianapolis, returning Grid favourites such as San Francisco and Paris, and brand-new locations like Moscow and London. And by popular demand, Drift events will return - with the reveal trailer teasing a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Drift-Tuned event.

For the first time in the franchise, GRID Legends will feature a Race Creator mode which will let players create their own dream racing event. Race Creator will allow players to edit car classes, weather conditions and lap amounts, which can then be shared online with the wider GRID community.

Codemasters will share more details about GRID Legends in the coming months leading to launch including story, characters, locations and new features in what is being described as the ‘most customisable and social Grid experience ever’
